John 2/19/2010 – The Art of Persistence to Lose Weight

OK. I’m being conceited here. I lost 4 lbs this week. This is after posting a goose egg last week (that’s why I didn’t post anything). Anyway, this week turned out to be very good and I am happy at being 254. I went to the Phalanx twice this week.

One thing I would like to discuss is what to do after a long layoff from working out. For example, I almost had a two week layoff from kick boxing class from all the snow we got in Jersey last week. As you can guess, I get pretty messed up from the classes at the Phalanx in Toms River. After all I perceive those classes to me physically challenging.

So the easy thing to do would be to not go anymore. However, I decided that I am pretty God Dammed serious to get healthy. So I pushed myself to go last Tuesday and Thursday. While I am in unbelievable amounts of pain, it was well worth it. I guess it’s true MMA fighting  is addicting. After all when the hell am I gonna go? It’s better just to get right back to it. Right?

I complemented my MMA workouts with EA active workouts. I love EA active. The workouts are tiring. However, I do a little extra after each work out now. I think I am getting in better conditioning now. Which is great.

Now with eating, I’ve experimented with food combinations and it does work. Now what the hell do I mean? What I am saying is if you eat the right combination of foods as described in the Fit For Life book, you’ll digest foods better and have more energy. Well, at least I did.

The plan next week is to go to Muay Thai Kick Boxing at the Phalanx three times next week. I also want to get in 3 additional workouts in. Most likely they will be EA active workouts.

I also plan to focus more on fine tuning my diet. I have 2 challenges this week. My son’s 7th birthday is this weekend. I have two parties to throw. So my plan is to stay away from the chips and eat like a human being. Then go back to the Fit for Life way on Monday. However, I still plan to eat only fruit in the morning. That really works for me.

Things came together this week. Let’s see how next week goes.

All the best,

John
